Hiring stages are the steps a candidate goes through for a job. Every job starts with Applied, Screening, Interview, Evaluation, Offer, Hired and Archive.
Move a candidate
From the job page or the candidate page:
- Click Move to [next stage] to move them one step forward.
- Click the arrow next to it to pick any other stage.
The stage tabs on the job page update their counts right away.
Archive a candidate
Click the archive icon on the candidate's row, or Archive on the candidate page. Archived candidates move to the Archive tab, and their rating is locked. Click Unarchive to put them back in Applied.
Archiving does not notify the candidate. Jobspage does not email candidates about stage changes.
Set up your own stages
Paid plans can change the stages of each job:
- Open the job and click Edit.
- Go to the Hiring stages tab.
- Rename a stage by editing its label, reorder with Move up and Move down, or delete one with Remove stage.
- To add a stage, type a name in Stage name and click Add new stage. It is added just before Archive.
- Click Publish.
Applied and Archive are fixed and can't be renamed, moved or removed.
If you remove a stage that has candidates in it, they move to the closest stage before it that still exists.
On the Free plan, the Hiring stages tab shows the default stages read-only. You can still move candidates between them.
