The Description field on a job is a small rich-text editor. What you format there is what candidates see on the job page.
The toolbar
- H1 to H5: section headings, for example "What you will do" or "What we offer". H1 is the largest.
- UL and OL: bulleted and numbered lists.
- Bold, Italic, Underline and Monospace for text.
Keyboard shortcuts work as usual: Ctrl+B, Ctrl+I and Ctrl+U (Cmd on a Mac). Press Tab inside a list to indent an item.
The editor does not support links or images. If candidates need to see a page, add the plain address as text.
Pasting from another document
Paste works, and basic structure such as headings and lists usually comes across. Check the result before publishing, since formatting from Word or Google Docs is not always kept as it was.
A structure that works
- Two or three sentences on the team and why the role exists.
- What you will do: 4 to 6 bullet points.
- What we are looking for: must-haves first, nice-to-haves marked as such.
- What we offer: pay range, benefits, location and hours.
- How we hire: the steps after applying, so candidates know what to expect.
Templates
We publish free job description templates for common roles at jobspage.co/job-description. Copy one into the editor and adjust it to the role.
